Tuesday of the Seventeenth Week in Ordinary Time

Jesus explains that the good seed represents the children of the Kingdom, while the weeds represent those who choose evil. Although they grow together for a time, God assures us that evil will not have the final word. There will come a day when truth, justice, and goodness will be fully revealed. Until then, we are called not to be consumed by the weeds around us, but to keep growing as healthy wheat.

It is easy to become discouraged by the evil, dishonesty, and division we see in the world. We may wonder why God allows them to remain. Jesus reminds us that God is both patient and just. He gives people time to repent while inviting us to remain faithful in the midst of life's challenges. Rather than spending our energy pointing out the weeds, let us focus on becoming the kind of disciples who bear good fruit. In the end, those who remain faithful "will shine like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father."
